The close interaction with pet owners, referring veterinarians, and lovable pets can be very rewarding. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential for this position as our Customer Service Representatives are utilized to their fullest and are allowed to be an integral part of all aspects of patient care coordination. As a Customer Service Representative at Companion Animal Dentistry, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Welcoming pets and their caregivers to our practice, informing the medical team that the patient has arrived
      • Maintaining a harmonious workflow during check in and check out process.
      • Inputting and retrieving information from the client into the computer.
      • Answering a multi-line phone system, prepare for next day appointments, inquiry of medical records and ensure all records are processed into patients file correctly.
      • Appointment scheduling, confirming appointments and reminding owners of pre-operative care instructions, follow up care calls, and properly respond to emails.
      • Client education and understanding common veterinary terminology and pet behavior.
      • Clerical responsibilities, accepting and recording various forms of payment, collecting outstanding
        balances, balancing cash drawer/handling money, and ensuring services and product sales are
        correctly accounted.
      • Assist in cleanliness and maintenance of the hospital to ensure a great client experience.

      • Assisting Veterinarians with examinations while using proper animal restraint.
      • Assisting Technicians with blood draws, IVC placements and vitals.
      • Assisting with oral surgery and other advanced dental procedure
      • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
      • Filling prescriptions.
      • Sterilization and instrument care.

Experience required for Assistant: At least 1-2 years of veterinary assisting work strongly preferred.

Hospital attendant

Companion Animal Dentistry, a specialty dental practice, is currently seeking a Veterinary Hospital Attendant to join our growing team and be a part of our new location in Overland Park, KS. Are you a person in interest of going into the veterinary or dental-related field? If you love animals and would enjoy a flexible work environment and want to learn more about Veterinary Medicine or Dentistry, we want to hear from you!

Veterinary Hospital Attendant’s are vital members of our team, as they create and maintain a welcoming, healthy, and safe environment for our patients, clients, and staff while upholding our core values and mission.

Candidate must be available to work at least 3 day shifts per week (Monday – Friday) 1pm – 5pm. Previous animal experience is preferred but not required. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have reliable transportation. Applicants must be able to lift 40 pounds approximately waist-high without resistance. Physical labor can be a part of this position.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

      • Perform daily cleaning of the hospital and rooms as outlined in housekeeping checklists.
      • Perform daily re-stocking of hospital supplies and reporting to Inventory Manager for weekly inventory.
      • Perform daily kennel cleanliness, laundry, and sterilization duties.
      • Sharpening and sterilization of dentistry instruments.
      • Handle patient bodily fluids and hazardous materials under protected conditions
      • Perform related work and additional duties as requested by Management Team
      • Working conditions are within a normal hospital environment
      • Recording elimination(s) if needed and alerting a technician and/or doctor if problems are suspected.
      • Able to perform basic arithmetic for dilution of cleaning chemicals
      • Communicate with all staff to facilitate a clean and safe work environment and report issues in the absence of to the Operations Manager
      • Notify Operations Manager of repairs or supplies needed for facilities maintenance
