Our Team

As experts in the field of veterinary dentistry and oral-maxillofacial surgery, our 3 board-certified doctors are committed to providing you with the most advanced treatments and highest level of comfort for your pet. There are only 120 boarded veterinary dentists in the United States, two of which practice at Companion Animal Dentistry.

Scott E. MacGee

DVM, DAVDC

Dr. Scott MacGee is a board-certified veterinary dentist. Dr. MacGee has authored numerous published articles about veterinary dentistry.  He is an award winning veterinarian and received the Debra B. Smith Editor’s Award for the most outstanding manuscript publication in the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry in 2013 and the Presidential Medal for Stewardship in 2022.  He has lectured at the National Veterinary Dental Forum, ACVIM, and the CVC in Kansas City.  Dr. MacGee graduated from Kansas State University in 1997 and has practiced in the Kansas City area since 1999.  He has taught dental wet-labs locally and at the CVC. Dr. MacGee is currently a committee member of the Exam Committee and the Residency Program Administrative Committee. He has served as committee chair for the Training Support Committee, RPAC, and Review and Assessment Committees for the American Veterinary Dental College.   Dr. MacGee is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association. He spent his first year of practice in beautiful Juneau, Alaska working on many native wildlife and many different types of animals. He is married and has 3 wonderful children, Carson, Makenna and Carleigh. When Dr. MacGee is not performing root canal therapy or oral surgeries, he enjoys bird watching, photography, reading books and spending time with his family.

Susan E. Crowder

DVM, DAVDC

Dr. Susan Crowder is also an active member of the community, teaching Sunday school, volunteering at the elementary schools.  She has over 10 years’ experience in veterinary practice including practice management prior to specializing in dentistry.  Dr. Crowder serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the American Veterinary Dental College, the specialty organization recognized by the AVMA.  Dr. Crowder also serves on the Executive Board of the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry.  In 2022, Dr. Crowder received the Peter Emily Service Award from the American Veterinary Dental College for her years as an officer and website designer for the college.  She graduated from Kansas State in 1998. Dr. Crowder has practiced in the Kansas City area since 2002. She has published veterinary dental articles, participated in clinical research, authored several dental articles, and is an international speaker on veterinary dentistry presenting at the Annual Veterinary Dental Forum, the Academy of General Dentistry national meeting, Yankee Dental Congress in Boston, and at local veterinary associations. Dr. Crowder is a Midmark Academy in-clinic trainer. She served as President, President-elect, and Treasurer of the American Veterinary Dental Society during a critical merger of the Society, Academy, and Foundation and has been a member since 2002. Dr. Crowder served as a board examiner for the American Veterinary Dental College from 2012-2017 and fulfilled the role of head archivist.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association and the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association. She shares her love of dentistry with her husband, Dr. Ric Crowder, who is a family dentist and owner of Crowder Family Dentistry. They have 3 children, Kayla, Brennan, and Madeline. Dr. Crowder enjoys snow skiing, scrap-booking, and watching her kids’ sports teams.  She spent her first years of practice in Wichita, Kansas before moving to Kansas City.

Kristin Linder

DVM, DAVDC

Dr. Kristin Linder is a diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College. Dr. Linder has lectured at the national Veterinary Dental Forum and at Companion Animal Dentistry’s Dental Intensive Weekend. She has also taught dental wet-labs and is a published author in veterinary dentistry. Dr. Linder currently serves on the Residency Program Administrative Committee for the American Veterinary Dental College. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Linder graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She received her DVM from Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018.
 
Dr. Linder began her relationship with Companion Animal Dentistry (CAD) in 2017 as a client with her beloved dog, Bandit. She then completed an externship at CAD during vet school. Following a rotating internship at Mission Veterinary Emergency and Specialty, Dr. Linder returned to CAD where she completed her dental and oral surgery residency in June 2022 and is thrilled to continue on as an associate. When not at work, Dr. Linder enjoys spending time with her husband, Alan, her dog, Piper, and her little monster (cat), Finn.

Alice Goodman

DVM, DAVDC

Dr. Goodman was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. She worked in general practice for six years prior to starting her dentistry residency in New York at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island.  She became a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College in 2021. Prior to joining Companion Animal Dentistry, Dr. Goodman was a veterinary dentist at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the oldest and largest veterinary clinics in the world.

Dr. Goodman is a member of the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  In 2021, she was awarded the Mark and Debra Smith Journal of Veterinary Dentistry Editor’s Award for Outstanding Manuscript by a Resident.

She shares her home with her husband (Andrew), a boarded veterinary surgeon, two cats (Tiki and Mango) and two dogs (Finn and Nigel).  In her free time, Dr. Goodman enjoys creating artwork, staying active, and spending time with friends and family.

Kayla

Practice Manager


Kayla graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology.  Kayla joined Companion Animal Dentistry in 2015.  Prior to joining our team, Kayla worked in general practice and volunteered at the Southeast Kansas Humane Society.   Kayla enjoys long weekends at the lake, fishing, and spending time outdoors with her Labrador, Drake.

 

Jennie

Office Manager

Jennie has been with the company since the summer of 2020. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences from University of Missouri Kansas City and earned her Master in Healthcare Administration with a concentration in Disaster Emergency Management at Park University in 2018.

Jennie has always had a passion to work with children.  When she joined the team at Companion Animal Dentistry, she quickly learned the children she was looking for were furry friends.  In her spare time, Jennie and her husband, Paul, share a photography business.  She also enjoys Dungeons and Dragons and spoiling her pets- Ruby (the miniature pinscher), Dobby (the shepsky), and her tortoise, Marlowe.

 

Kelly, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Kelly joined the Companion Animal Dentistry team in May of 2021. She has worked in the veterinary field since graduating with an Associate of Applied Science degree from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in December 2004.

Kelly started her veterinary career working in general practice and prior to moving to Kansas, she worked at the University of Missouri’s Veterinary Health Center helping educate future veterinarians. She was voted Technician of the Year by the 2008 graduating class.

A Registered Veterinary Technician in both Kansas and Missouri, Kelly is also a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America and the Kansas Veterinary Technician Association.

In her spare time, Kelly enjoys hiking, traveling with her husband, and spending time with their four dogs.

Jennifer, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Jennifer graduated from Penn Foster with honors in August 2022, where she obtained her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. Prior to working at Companion Animal Dentistry, Jennifer worked for 11 years in general practice where she developed a special interest in animal dentistry and anesthesia. Jennifer is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Kansas Veterinary Technician Association, and a member of the Veterinary Care Elect.  In her free time, Jennifer enjoys hiking, reading, baking, and spoiling her two dogs Dunkin, the Australian Shepherd and KC, the Yorkie. A fun fact about Jennifer is that she can quote almost every F.R.I.E.N.D.S episode and loves to partake in F.R.I.E.N.D.S trivia.

Tiffani, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Tiffani graduated from Murray State University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Prior to joining CAD in October of 2022, she spent 3 years working for a general practice/emergency clinic in Wisconsin. There she gained a passion for anesthesia and dental care. She looks forward to helping make a difference with each patient and client she encounters. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and spending time with her family and Siberian Husky, Nora.

Sue, RVT, VTS – Dentistry

Registered Veterinary Technician, Veterinarian Technician Specialist – Dentistry

Sue joined the Companion Animal Dentistry team in November 2022. She obtained her Veterinary Technician Specialist in Dentistry in 2023, which allows her to follow her passion to help owners better care for their own pets.  She is particularly passionate about providing education on home care for pets, and ways for the human/ pet bond to be strengthened.  Sue graduated in 2015 from the Maple Woods Veterinary Technology program with honors and an applied science degree.  Sue is a member of the AVDT (Academy of Veterinary Technicians) and the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry.  Prior to working in the veterinary industry as a Registered Veterinary Technician, she was in the corporate world, until she decided to follow her passion to work with animals, and lives with several cats, who rule the home.  She also has a retired dressage horse and has been riding since she was a child.  She loves hiking, reading, and spending time in the mountains.

Rebecca, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Rebeca started her veterinary career in 2015 as a veterinary assistant before graduating from Maple Woods Veterinary Technology program in 2019.  She worked in general practice until 2024 when she joined the CAD team.  She loves learning about new ways to improve care and comfort for each patient.  In her free time she enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons with her partner, Presley, and their close friends.  She also enjoys reading, watching tv shows and movies, and spending time with her pit bull mix, Lou.

Jill

Veterinary Assistant

Jill began working in the veterinary field in 2004 during high school, where she quickly fell in love with the profession. She graduated from Westminster College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2010, and from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Graduate Certificate in Public Health in 2012.

After a two year period in Pre-Clinical Research, Jill found a new passion in Veterinary ER. She worked at
Mission Veterinary Emergency and Specialty for eight years.

In September of 2023, Jill decided she wanted to try something new, and dove into the world of Veterinary Dentistry! She loves working with such a knowledgeable and caring team.

In her spare time, Jill likes to foster and volunteer for The Rescue Project, hike with her dog, and do art
projects.

Darla

Veterinary Assistant

Darla grew up in Paola, Kansas.  She graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in zoology.  Darla always knew she wanted to work with animals but wasn’t exactly sure what field she wanted to go into.

Darla started working at a veterinary clinic and fell in love with the field.  She stayed at that same clinic for 21 years!

Darla’s favorite things about the veterinary field have been building strong bonds with pets and their owners, seeing how resilient animals can be, she feels great compassion for the animals, and loves that there are always new things to learn.

Darla brought her own dog, Jeffrey, to CAD for a procedure and that is how she ended up here.

Darla loves spending time with her son, enjoys the quiet life of living in the country, loves listening to music, exploring the outdoors, spending time with her longtime friends, her close family, and her pets.

Natalie

Veterinary Assistant

Natalie graduated in 2021 from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor’s in Communication. She is pursuing a veterinary technology degree from MCC Maple Woods. Prior to joining the veterinary field, she worked for four years in animal welfare and volunteer management at KC Pet Project, Columbia Second Chance, and MeowLuxe Cat Hotel. She has fostered 30 cats, and has two of her own cats, Martini and Itty Bitty, who are foster fails. She enjoys reading, cooking, thrifting, and bartending.

Tamara

Certified Veterinary Assistant

Tamara joined Companion Animal Dentistry in April 2023.  She earned her Veterinary Assistant Certificate from Metropolitan Community College Maple Woods and is currently taking steps towards becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician.  Her personal mission is to provide the most comprehensive and compassionate care to all animals alike.  She is the proud owner and best friend to Ruby, a Border Collie Beagle mix, and Bert, the leopard gecko.  In her free time, she enjoys hiking, thrifting, painting, and playing music.

Brooke

Hospital Attendant

Brooke is currently enrolled at Olathe North High School and will graduate in May of 2025. She is a student of the Animal Health Program at Olathe North and is actively learning about animal care and veterinary procedures. After high school she plans to continue her education in the veterinary field. When she is not at school or working Brooke loves to spend time with her two Australian Shepherds, Oliver and Bailey, go hiking and trying new food with her family!

Dr. Christopher Sauvé

Resident 

Dr. Christopher Sauvé graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Canada in 2012.  After several years in both emergency and general practice in Canada, he decided to pursue advanced training in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery to allow him to dedicate his career to the prevention and treatment of oral diseases in our pets. He is a member of the Foundation of Veterinary Dentistry and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  Dr. Sauve became a board-certified veterinary dentist in 2022!
