Orthodontics and Genetic Counseling

Every pet deserves a pain-free mouth and bite.  When your veterinarian describes the bite as "overbite" or "underbite" these are terms to explain the type of malocclusion that your pet may have.  Few animals have a perfect bite, called a "scissor" bite. Some of our companions have a class III occlusion, where the lower jaw is longer than the upper jaw, seen in bulldogs and pugs.  Malocclusions can be painful if teeth hit other teeth or teeth hit soft tissue and cause holes and damage the surrounding tissue.

Key Benefits

  • Prevention of pain and discomfort with early diagnosis
  • Movement of teeth into a more comfortable functional bite
  • Counseling to promote sound breeding programs and good genetics

                                                                                                                                                                  Note trauma from upper incisors
